At the beginning of 2022, I began working for a mining exploration company as a drilling helper. The job required rotating shifts—22 days on nights followed by days—and it was physically and mentally exhausting. Working with heavy machinery demanded full attention, especially during the night shifts when fatigue hit hardest. That’s when coffee became essential. I needed it just to stay awake and alert.
I started trying different coffees from well-known multinational brands—everything from Starbucks to supermarket labels across multiple states. But something was always missing. As I explored more, I noticed that most commercial coffees didn’t mention their origin. Much of the coffee on supermarket shelves lacked transparency. Nobody seemed to question where the beans came from or whether they were authentic.
When we buy clothes or shoes, we often ask where they’re made because we know origin affects quality. Why don’t we ask the same about our coffee?
Growing up in a coffee-producing country, I remember the taste and aroma of truly fresh, locally grown coffee. It was rich, bold, and deeply flavorful—nothing like what I was finding in the U.S. I missed that experience.
So I reached out to family back home and asked them to send me some authentic African coffee. The moment I brewed it, everything changed. The flavor was unmatched. That moment sparked an idea: Why not share this experience with others? Why not bring real, traceable, high-quality African coffee to the U.S. market?
That’s how Pearson Cassanga Coffee Co. was born.
We stand for three things:
This isn’t just coffee. This is a return to the roots—crafted for those who care about where their coffee comes from and how it’s grown. Welcome to Pearson Cassanga Coffee Co., where every bean tells a story.
